What’s Really Important in Learning & Development

A corkboard with notes including one that says "Make Things Happen."

Have you ever registered for a webinar that sounded interesting, but then were blown away by the content when you viewed it? This happened to me today! I watched this Learning Guild webinar entitled Beyond the AI Hype: Crafting Stories that Drive Engagement & ROI in Modern L&D.

In this webinar, Cara North, Al Dea, and Max Edwards have an amazing conversation about things that are really important in learning and development. They discuss:

  • Ensuring training is relevant

  • Unleashing employee potential

  • The role of leadership in promoting and modeling the value of learning

  • Tailoring training to serve different audiences

  • Change management

  • Aligning L&D with business goals

  • Meaningful metrics

  • Influencing decision-makers

Taking action in these areas are ways L&D professionals can make real impacts at their companies. Challenging? Yes! But also inspiring. I hope this is the direction that instructional designers will take as we move into the future.
